A little history.
Storm was my first character back when we had three to choose from. I left Marvel Heroes for a little because of other commitments and when I returned there was a slew of new characters who I decided to play instead. After a good long while playing everyone else, I decided to give her a try. Mainly for nostalgic reasons.
She definitely needs help. She definitely needs some love in her current state. There is one thing though that makes her stand out to me, and also makes her more fun than other characters. It's the build up.
Why I am not in love with Storm.
I am not sure if anyone has ever played Rift...but there was a class called the Stormcaller (Or it was when I played it) and the entire concept was that it was slow to start, but then once you summoned all of your layers to create massive weather displays you were literally a walking force of devastation. (Oddly they also had mana/spirit issues)
I guess that is what I am saying about Storm. Of all the characters I have played she is the only one who I feel the build with. Throw out some lightning, add a dash of Tornado's and throw in some well timed hail. It starts off slow, and then when it reaches it apex it really does feel like a disaster. (A great and lovely disaster)
While I support that we truly need work done on her, both visually and mechanically, I do like the feel of her powers. I actually feel like I am crafting a massive area of devastation, rather than pulling a "Wanda" and just instantly destroying something. It's like a recipe, not just a single click and while I do know that people want more instant powers, it's the feel of her rotations that keep me coming back.
So keep up the good fight, but I do hope when they do come around to looking at her (I am laughing at this right now) that they don't take that element from her playstyle.
